"The Odyssey" REVIEW

Christopher Nolan’s latest film exceeds all expectations of Homer’s epic story The odyssey.
It is truly a journey in the making as the film jumps right into the farewell of Ithaca’s king who manages to save the city from the Trojans. That daring rescue catapults Odysseus on a deeper journey not just to find answers but ultimately to find himself and be able to return home to his beloved city of Ithaca.
The Universal Pictures' blockbuster contains an all star cast including Matt Damon as Odysseus, Anna Hathaway as Penelope and Tom Holland as Telemachus, in very powerful roles that are certainly Oscar worthy.
Furthermore the cast also includes supporting cast members like Robert Patterson as Antinous, Corey Hawkins as Polybus, Elliot Page as Sinon and John Leguizamo as Eumaeus who equally puts our star stunning performances. Finally the film would not be complete without real life “goddesses” Zendaya as Athena the god of love and Charlize Theron as Calypso the goddess of renown beauty. Aside for looking like goddesses they both have a unique way of carrying themselves on the screen as such powerful entities.
all in all, Odyssey is a film that will have audiences glued to the screen. There is so much action and adventure that even one who doesn’t fully know the literature will get a rise out of the story on rocky waters and rough roads. That being said for those who are fans of Homer’s Odyssey one might say they are in for a ride of epic proportions. There are such powerful moments of literary beauty that will have you captivated to reread The original work of art.
The odyssey came out in theaters July 17th and is currently playing in one near you.
