Dreamworks first live action remake is making records as it takes number one at the box office opening weekend.

How To Kill Your Dragon follows the same storyline as its animated original. Hiccup, faced with the dilemma of killing a dragon, finally captures the legendary night fury but upon killing it, realizes that the dragon isn't much different than he in that they both have things that they fear. Now on the verge of completing dragon hunting training, Hiccup must convince his other young teens that killing dragons is not what they really need to do.

The film stars a stellar cast including Gerald Butler as Hiccup's father, the chief as well as Black Phone's Mason Thames, Dumbo's Nico Parker, and Wicked's Bronwyn James to name a few, all of which do an exceptional job of bringing the world of Burke to life on the big screen.

All in all, the film does a good job of not straying too far from the original. The only real difference is Astrid's hair color as she goes from blonde in the animated film to brunette in the live action. That being said, the slight difference doesn't deter from the story that children of all ages will inevitably enjoy from beginning to the end.

How to Train your Dragon came out in theaters June 13th and is currently playing in one near you.
