There’s a new AI in town and this one is government controlled, but this one has a new mission to destroy all those connected to the original project especially Gamma and Katie. Now it’s time to give M3gan another chance trust that she will save everyone, not destroy it.
In a sense M3gan 2.0 is another "Terminator" type film as it further delves into the idea of machines taking over. The film brings back Jenna Davis and Amie Donald as the voice and the body of M3gan as well as Allison Williams reprising Gemma and Violet McGraw as Cady. Additionally, Ivanna Sakhno brings to life Emilia, the government made AI weapon who does a great job of measuring up to the original "M3gan" model. Finally, Aristotle Athari joins the cast as Emilia's creator with a deep secret as to the real purpose behind the AI.
Ultimately, M3gan 2.0 is everything you want in an action/horror film with a bit of comedy thrown in for fun. It have the same creative imagination as the original as M3gan gives Chucky a run for his money. Though maybe not as terrifying, it does add it's own unique scare aspect to it. It's a film that will truly make you question AI for the good as everyone fears the evil behind it.
M3gan 2.0 came out in theaters June 27th, 2025 and is currently playing in one near you.
