"Sarah's Oil/Anniversary" REVIEW
Sarah’s Oil REVIEW

It’s the unbelievable faith of a young black girl to be able to keep the land that was given to her. The only thing is also trying to stay alive when the big oil companies want full claim. Ultimately it’s a battle of survival in the midst of racial segregation in the early 1900s.
Based on the true story, Sarah’s Oil is a powerful movie of pure ambition against all odds. The casting includes Shazam’s Zachery Levi who does an exceptional job as Sarah’s business partner as well as Naya Desir-Johnson who absolutely nailed her role as Sarah. Her assertiveness and desire has a certain charm that will cause audiences to feel every emotion that the character is going through.
Similarly the chemistry between both Levi and Desir-Johnson is impactful even when she finds out about the deceitful nature of her partner, it’s the faith that she has that drives her faith in her partnership and one can see it through both actors.
Sarah’s Oil officially comes out in theaters on November 7th and will be showing in one near you.
Anniversary REVIEW

It’s a classic story of what happens when politics come up at a family gathering. On the 25th anniversary of the Taylor’s, their only son brings a familiar face to the party; one who has his mother worries because of a disturbing thesis that was written in one of her classes. Each year sees even more dishevel as the country changes to one that is described in said thesis and has the family ripped at the seams as to who is really right politically. The question is how far is one willing to go for the truth.
The film stars Diane Lane, Kyle Chandler, McKenna Grace, Zoey Duetch and Dylan O’Brien, all of whom do an excellent job of portraying a family that instantly becomes estranged due to one woman’s political views. Equally Phoebe Dynevor plays an intriguing role that adds extra psychological suspense to the story as she seamlessly goes from victim to one who schemingly holds the cards to the government corruptness.
All in all Anniversary will your mind reeling over what is and what could be and the ending you ultimately may not see coming until it happens. The film came out in limited theaters October 31st and is currently showing in one near you.
