"Street Fighter" REBOOT

"To Live is to Fight... To Fight is to live"

That's the underlying premise in the latest reboot based on the late 80's video game.

The film is based on two "brothers" not by blood by by bond who grow up under the same martial arts mentor: one brother, an orphan while the other is the son of rich parents who seek more for their kin. The bond is strong enough to last as one ends up becoming a martial arts champion, but bot ultimately have a secret; one that could make or break that brotherly bond for good.

All in all, this version of the martial arts film contains more elements of both the video game and cartoon, even intersecting the animation into the live action to give it just a little bit of depth.

Street Fighter stars Noah Centineo as Ken Masters and Andrew Koji as Ryu, both who do an exceptional job portraying such memorable charaters to the franchise. They both seeminglessly pack the right amount of punch as they take on the martial arts world by force. Similarly the film isn't complete without, Callina Liang as Chin Li, David Dastmalchian as Bison, Jason Momoa as as the hairy green monster, Blanka and Mel Jarnson as Cammy.

All in all, this Street Fighter at nearly 2 hour run time, will leave audiences clinging to the original and wanting to bring out the game and play it with fresh eyes. The filmmakers certainly did a fine job of rekindling the game that gen X kids used to love and hopefully new generations will find pleasure in the once popular martial arts game.

Street Fighter came out in theater October 15th and is currently playing in one near you.
