Listening is key.

When Nicky, a virtuoso piano tuner, gets mixed up in the wrong crowd by realizing his gift of being able to crack safes by listening to the tumblers inside, his world begins to unravel. Before that he ws a quiet well mannered young man working with his grandfather as a piano tuner. Now it must figure oout how to get back to that life without losing it for good.

Tuner is a unique crime drama thriller that will definitely have you sitting up to take notice. The film stars Dustin Hoffman, who adds a since of comedic charm in all he does. He definitely brings his "Rainman" since of humor as those who know him best will instantly recognize the reference. Additionally he is joined by Leo Woodall, who has a inate since of charm as he goes from mild mannered prodigy to one working with a mafia type gang. Finally the film even has a bit of a romance brewing as Havana Rose Liu plays Nicky's girlfriend, who he ultimately nearly loses because of bad decisions.

All in all, Tuner is a movie for anyone who loves the classical nature of what it means to be a virtuoso pianist. There are several classical music scenes that will have music lovers captivated by the sound of the keys, while nearly devastated by the choices that are ultimately made which in turn could have disasterous consequences.

It's ulitimately a film that will delight, surprise and truly have you engulfed in the unique story of The Tuner. It came out in limited theaters on May 25th and is currently playing in a slightly more expanded list. See it hopeful in one near you and let you make your choice, if Nicky indeeds makes the right decision or not. The ending may indeed shock you.
