"Finding Emily" REVIEW

Owen has every urge to find the "girl of his dreams" named Emily who he struck up a flirtation late one night while mixing at the local club. She even gave him her number. The problem is she forgot a digit. Now on a massive search to find all the Emily's at the University, with the help of the first Emily on his list, who happens to be a psychology major with an interest in studding Romance from a particular point of view. What Owen doesn't realize, the Emily is truly longs for is closer than he thinks. Will he discover the truth before everything completely blows way out of porportion and will Emily show up in just the right moment to save the day?

At an hour 50 minute runtime, Focus Feature's Finding Emily is the perfect rom com mystery about the dangers of online research that can ultimately turn into a bit of a stocker moment when giving access to online addresses by someone who you trust. It begs the question of how much is too much to find the person you ultimately wish to find and what happens when they don't want to be found, at least at that particular time? Do you keep going or quick while you can?

Finding Emily stars a unique star cast including Mean Girl's Angourie Rice as the psychology major Emily Raine as well as Ella McCay's Spike Fearn who definitely has some distinct character growth. The chemistry between the two, which stars off as a bit on the awkward side and intensifies the more they get into the search and will leave audiences wishing them together when all is said and done. Additionally, we are graced with the musical styles of Fearn as he a few times has some musical moments that will shock and thrill audiences with his talent.

Finally the cast wouldn't be complete without well known actress Minnie Driver as the Dean who equally adds an additional element of drama to the story.

All in all, Finding Emily is a rom com for anyone who loves a good underdog story about love at first sight gone completely wrong. It only goes to show, you never know when or where you might meet that one special person. It could even be that one that is helping you find her that might even surprise you.
