"Masters of The Universe" REVIEW

"With the power of Gray Skull, I Have the power"

This is all it takes for He-Man to take control and save Eternia, but first he must find the sword and that might take some time. Working in Human resources, Adam knows that he is meant for something more. He remembers all the people who he grew up with, but no one believes him, that is until he is finally able to return to Eternia with the help of his childhood friend, Teela. The only thing is, Eternia is not the same as he remembered, not since Skeletor took over it's reign and nearly destroyed it. Now it's up to Adam to remember exactly who he is and more importantly the power that comes not just by him alone but by all the "Masters of the Universe"

Based on the 80's cartoon, the latest blockbuster will have true fans craving the stories of He-man. Casting wise, they ultimately made a great choice especially in using The Sheep Detective's Nicholas Galitzine as Adam. He does a great job of turning a seemingly nerd into the next superhero with "God-like" powers. Additionally the film stars Camila Mendes as Teela, Idris Elba as Duncan, Jared Leto as Skeletor, Alison Bree as Evil Lyn, Morena Baccarin as the sorceress and Kristen Wiig as the voice of Roboto.

Finally a not so hidden Easter Egg is the passing of the torch from original he-man, Dolph Lundgren who even uses the same hand signal as a send off for Adam.

All in all, Masters of the Universe will have audience on the edge of their seats. At 2 hours and 20 minute run time it's a film that won't disappoint with plenty of references to the original that will have you wanting to rewatch again just to catch all the cameos and see the future of the series as bonus end scenes reveal She Ra, the lost twin sister.

The movie came out in theaters June 5th and is currently playing in one near you.
