A good shepherd is always there to watch over his flocks, but what happens to the flock when the shepherd is murdered. Now it's time for the sheep to solve the mystery, but how? Why, by remembering the night stories the shepherd once told them.

With just a hint of religious reference, The Sheep Dectectives takes on an interesting twist. That is the concept of "dumb sheep" in fact knowing just what is going on in the world, or at least in their own world.

In a nutshell, it's a good ole murder mystery where everyone is a suspect but only one really knows the truth.

The fun-loving Amazon MGM film certainly one that will bring families together to laugh, cry and sit on the edge of their seats as they watch the comical sheep with a deeper, sentimental message. With well-known actors including Hugh Jackman, who by far gives another "Greatest" show nodded as he delivers a performance unlike anything he has done before. Additionally, Molly Gordon does an equally great job following in the shoes of Jackman as she steps into the role as his estranged daughter who shows up trying to get to know her father and winds up as the prime suspect in his murder. Emma Thompson, equally joins the cast as the "will-reading" lawyer and Nicolas Gilitzine plays the mysterious journalist who also like Gordon, appears to show up just at the right time to cover the story of the murder. Seems like a bit of "twin" magic.

Finally, the film contains the voice actors for those incredible sheep who all have a name, yet another hidden biblical reference for those who pay close attention. The voice cast includes Julia Lewis Dreyfus as Lily, Patrick Stewart as Sir Ritchfield, Brett Goldstein as Reggie and Ronnie, the rams who love to charge everything, Regina Hall as Cloud and Bryan Cranston as Sebastian. All of the voices do an outstanding job of bringing certain characteristics of the sheep to life.

The Sheep Detectives came out in theaters May 7th and is currently playing in one near you. See it for a mystery that will leave you in suspense and one can only hope cause you to consider a more important biblical message behind the mystery.
