"Supergirl" REVIEW

It’s time for Supergirl’s time to shine but first she must find herself and her place. What it takes is her going off to the red sun planet and what she finds is a young girl similar to her who lost her family and is bent on revenge if it is the last thing she does. Unfortunately in order to to protect her, Krupp must suffer as it creates an even greater need for revenge. Will Kara have what it takes to safe both her beloved dog and the soul of a young girl from suffering her same fate? 

At just under two hour run time, Supergirl will have fans marveling over the new rendition to the classic comic book hero. 

The film stars Milly Alcock who has a unique way of embodying the character, shown more of a rebellious young adult trying to drink her pain away. We see growth in such a short time as suspense heightens very quickly. 

Similarly the cast also includes Jason Momoa who proves to be a very unlikely Allie though one would have their doubts at first look and Eve Ridley as the young girl named Ruthie who helps Kara see her ultimate potential while trying not to give in to her dark temptation. Finally the film wouldn’t be complete without Superman himself (played by David Corenswet) in a few very brief cameo style scenes. 

The film uses a combination of past and present scenes which further helps audiences truly understand just why Kara is the way she is.  Though her journalistic integrity is hidden in this origin tale it’s got a slight chance in the sequel that she might indeed pick up where her cousin leaves off as she fights crime with a known alias.
