Emma Thompson is back in a film about survival. When a woman, burdened with the loss of her husband is traveling through cold winter weather, she finds herself stumbling upon a kidnapping. Now it's up to her to be able to rescue the young girl and inevitably save herself, especially when she realize that she is the girl's only hope in a remote area that is hours away from the nearest town and no cell phone service.
All in all, Dead of Winter is a drama that will have audiences on the edge of their seat. Done as a very raw B- rating movie, it's a gem in the heart of all the big box office blockbusters out today. Thompson does an exceptional job of capturing the emotion of a lonely woman dealing with her own survivals. Additionally the film also stars The Long Walk's Judy Greer who equally captures that same emotional level. Finally the film stars Ms. Marvel star Laurel Marsden in a very raw portrayal of a teen who is scared of what fate is in store for her.
Dead of Winter came out be beginning of October and is currently playing in a theater near you. See it before it's too late and leaves the limited theaters for good.
