It's the most unlikeliest of companionships forged from ultimately a sin that is going from the small screen of Disney plus to the big screens of theaters everywhere. The Mandalorian and Grogu continues the story that The Mandalorian set up nearly 6 years ago as we go on another and venture with Mandu and the child. This time their mission comes straight from the Rebellion as they seek out help from the legendary Mandalorian and his apprentice in order to rescue Jabba the Hutt's son, Rotta. Though things get complicated when he realizes there's a reason Rotta is missing and it has nothing to do with needing rescuing. Now it's a epic war against the Rebellion and Mandalorian as they do right for Rotta against his family.
All in all, the newest Star Wars spin off brings all of George Lucas' vision to life on the big screen. In alot of ways one can almost see the original Star Wars spin especially in the relationship between Mandu and Grogu. Grogu is to Luke Skywalker as he embraces his Jedi mind skills and of course, Mando is the rough soldier like attitude similarly to Hans Solo.
The film stars a stellar cast which includes Pedro Pascal who returns as the voice of the Mandalorian from the original series and truly embodies his role. Also joining the cast includes Sigourney Weaver as Colonel Ward, Jeremy Allen White as Rotta the Hutt, Jonny Coyne as Lord Janu and Martin Scorsese voicing Hugo Durant.
The Mandalorian and Grogu came out in theaters Memorial day weekend and ultimately it was no competition as it took number one at the box office with 81 million. It's a film for all Star Wars fans who long to see the rebellion's story on the big screen. It certainly won't disappoint, that's for sure.
