As Halloween is 7 days away, it’s time for a horror marathon with two of the latest films in theaters this year.
Shelby Oaks

Three questions remain into the illustrious disappearance of Paranormal Paranoia hosts.
Who is Riley Brennan?
What happened in Shelby Oaks? And
Where is Riley Brennan now?
That’s her sister Mia’s determination to find her long lost sister through a series of alleged video footage that turns up shortly after the disappearance.
Shelby Oaks is a unique ghost telling film of demonic images put together by use of documentary style editing to cause viewers to really believe what they are watching is real. Though the content is purely fictional one might say it is based on the “real life” ghost hunting phenomenon of the late 90’s and early 2000’s.
The film stars Renfield’s Sarah Durn as the alleged missing Riley as well as Camille Sullivan who played her sister. It’s that sisterly determination that drives the film to the shocking conclusion and leaves audiences in suspense with the open ended result.
Likewise the film also costars Rookie’s Michael beach as the detective behind the sightings as well as C.L Simpson, Rebecca DeMarco, Mariah Burkes, Joe Quinn and Mason Heidger who all make the film as realistic as it can be.
The choice is ultimately up to you as an audience whether to let yourself be deceived or ultimately to realize the truth behind the cinematography.
Shelby Oaks came out October 24th and is currently playing in a theater near you.
Black Phone 2

The Grabber is back and this time he means revenge as he lures Finn and his sister Gwen to an abandoned Christian Camp that their mom once attended. Truths are realized as the two young teens seek to find the bodies of the original kids that the Grabber first took. Additionally we learn even more about the Grabber including his other secret as he attended the camp the same year as their mom.
Black Phone 2 brings back Regretting You's Mason Thames as Finn, his sister Gwen played by Madeline McGraw and Lost’s Jeremy Davies as Terrence. Of course Ethan Hawke reprises his role of the Grabber and has an intriguing way of invoking fear in the hearts of those watching. Several jump scares that will have you thinking they will not survive and yet when they do, you are still on the edge wondering what will happen next.
It’s definitely a film to se during the spooky season for those who wish to be scared out of their mind. That being said, it does have a satisfying ending where it still leaves you wondering what is next for our willing teens in the woods.
Black phone 2 came out October 16th and is still drawing in crowds even its second week at the box office. See it in a theater near you and check out the first film available only on Peacock.
