"Dog Stars" REVIEW

When an unknown virus takes more than half of the population, what’s left is survivors just trying to get by after the devastation. This includes Higs, a grief stricken, ex mechanic who lost everything including his wife and dog. When he decides to go on a helicopter voyage to find other survivors who are also trying to get by, he encounters things that he can only imagine seeing in this new world.

Ultimately, this movie, which is based on the book by Peter Heller, is a milder version of 28 Days Later with a post apocalyptic take. The film stars Wuthering Heights’  Jacob Elordi, Weapons' Josh Brolin, Guy Pierce, Honey Don't's Margaret Qualley, The Roses' Allison Janney and Benedict Wong; all of whom did an awesome job in the psychological drama that one has to see to believe and potentially understand. 

The Dog Stars came out in theaters August 27 and is currently playing in a theater near you.  It’s a movie that will have you on the edge of your seat with some realistic scenes combined with sci fi fantasy and nearly cannibalism moments. 

Rated R, and at an hour 58 minute runtime it might not be for the faint at heart, but it is a pretty relatable post apocalyptic story to by your time at the box office.
